Hi there!

Aside from a terrible, although nostalgically forgivable, song by Cameo (and an even more atrocious cover by Korn), Word Up! is a blog focused on various topics, mostly confined in English. It’s a place to expound upon etymologies, the evolution of the English language, grammar, and style. It’s also, at least half (maybe more) focused on creative writing: writing tips, methods, styles, prompts, and possibly excerpts from me.

Who am I? I’m a writer of over 15 years, a speaker of English for almost 30, and a recent recipient of a BA in English/Creative Writing. I’m interested in language as a whole, with a beginner’s knowledge of Japanese and an intermediate to advanced knowledge of French.
